superfood vegan chocolate milk
Energizing superfood vegan chocolate milk
I’m sure you have all passed the cooler in your local grocer that holds all the fresh pressed juices, kombuchas and vegan milks in it. Every time I do, I am tempted to grab one of those enticing vegan milk concoctions. What holds me back you ask? The price! Even on sale, those drinks can be a total budget buster. I have been meaning to whip up my own (budget friendly) version of superfood vegan chocolate milk for a while now. Hopefully, this recipe will inspire you to treat yourself ASAP. It is delicious, refreshing and energizing! I’m bummed I waited so long. Obviously, I will be experimenting with more flavors and be presenting them to you soon. Matcha Turmeric, Reishi and more!
Energy Crash solved (without drinking a chemical soup)
Chia Seeds~ protein, antioxidants, omega 3’s, fiber, natural source of energy
More Chia Seed recipes! lemon coconut chia energy balls
Hemp seeds~ omega’s, minerals, complete protein
Cacao Powder~ iron, magnesium, fiber, antioxidants, energy
All of these ingredients can be purchased at Trader Joe’s now! Concocting your own superfood vegan chocolate milk has never been easier or more cost effective! There really is no reason to purchase that toxic can or bottle of promised liquid energy, now or ever again. You will feel a huge difference when you begin to fuel your body with nourishing superfoods. Eating more foods that provide your body with essential vitamins, minerals and are natural sources of plant-based protein help sustain energy, naturally. Your body recognizes real food and is more likely to know what to do with it and where to put it than foods created in a lab, or that are completely processed.
Variety is key
Once you have blended up your very own superfood vegan chocolate milk, you have several options.
a.) Enjoy immediately ( I highly recommend this option!)
b.) Pour over ice and enjoy a cold refreshing drink on a warm day
c.) Place in the fridge or freezer to chill until desired coldness is reached.
d.) Drink half and save the rest for tomorrow ( store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 3 days. Shake to combine if contents have settled.)
Kitchen Disaster Confession Time
Things are not always what they seem here at Hobbies So Fancy Headquarters. Sometimes there are mega-disasters that go on behind the scenes of the HSF kitchen.
Case in point (two weeks ago, this occurred right before school pick-up!)
Last week there was the epic beet smoothie avalanche, right before we needed to leave for an after-school sport. Therefore, there is no photo. But really, is a photo necessary? I think we can all conjure up this unpleasant incident, no help needed.
This morning it was the contents of the trashcan emptied all over the floor during an attempt to transfer one can into a larger one; before taking it all outside. *sigh*
Humble pie is served regularly in my kitchen.
